Historic Achievement in T20I Cricket

In a remarkable display of batting, Nepal's Kushal Bhurtel became one of only six players to hit six sixes in a single over during a T20I match against China on Sunday. This extraordinary feat took place in the ninth over at the Singapore National Cricket Ground, where Bhurtel sent left-arm spinner Chen Zhuo Yue over the boundary six times in succession, as reported by the ICC.

With this achievement, Bhurtel joins the ranks of Dipendra Singh Airee as the second Nepali player to accomplish this milestone in T20I cricket.

Joining the Elite Six-Hitting Club

The first player to achieve the six sixes feat was India's Yuvraj Singh, who famously hit Stuart Broad during the inaugural ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2007. Bhurtel now stands alongside other cricketing legends such as Kieron Pollard (2021), Dipendra Singh Airee (2024), Darius Visser from Samoa (2024), and Bulgaria's Manan Bashir (2025) in this exclusive club.

Nepal's Dominant Victory

Bhurtel's explosive innings of 129 runs off just 43 balls propelled Nepal to a staggering total of 313/2 in their 20 overs. This performance led to a resounding 221-run victory over China, who were bowled out for a mere 92 runs.

Overall, Bhurtel's achievement marks him as the second player from Nepal to hit six consecutive sixes in an over in international cricket, following his teammate Dipendra Singh Airee's accomplishment against Qatar in 2024.
