The final match commenced with Oh taking the lead by winning the first set 29-27, putting her ahead 2-0. The second set ended in a tie at 29-29, giving Oh a 3-1 advantage. However, Kumkum showcased her skills in the third set, scoring three consecutive 10s for a perfect 30, while Oh managed 29, leveling the score at 3-3. Kumkum's gold medal capped off an impressive campaign, having already secured a women's recurve team gold and a mixed team silver on the previous day. She collaborated with Ankita Bhakat and Kirti Sharma to defeat South Korea 5-3 in the women's recurve team final, marking India's first-ever medal in this event at the Asian Games. Later, she partnered with Dhiraj Bommadevara to earn silver in the mixed recurve team event after a close match against China, which ended 3-5.
