K.T. Rama Rao has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to Telangana, questioning whether he is merely there to collect promised funds from the Chief Minister. Rao's comments highlight ongoing political tensions regarding the implementation of electoral promises between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS. As Gandhi arrives in Hyderabad, he is set to participate in a training program for DCC presidents, while facing criticism from BJP leaders for the Congress government's failure to deliver on its commitments. This visit underscores the heated political climate in the region as parties prepare for upcoming elections.

KTR Questions Rahul Gandhi's Intentions

K.T. Rama Rao, the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), launched a sharp critique against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday, questioning the purpose of his visit to Telangana. In a post on X, Rao remarked, "Hello Rahul Gandhi. Welcome to the AICC ATM in Telangana. Are you here just to collect the promised ₹1,000 crores from the Chief Minister?"

Rao further inquired whether Gandhi would review the progress of the 'six guarantees' that were promised to be fulfilled within 100 days, as well as the 420 other commitments made to the people of the state. He asked, "Do you care to assess the progress of those six guarantees that were promised to be completed within 100 days, along with the 420 other promises made to the public?"

These remarks come amidst ongoing political tensions regarding the implementation of electoral promises between the ruling Congress government and the opposition BRS in Telangana. Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Congress MP K.C. Venugopal, arrived in Hyderabad, where Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed him at Shamshabad Airport. Gandhi then proceeded to the Ananthagiri Hills in Vikarabad district for the concluding session of a training program for DCC presidents from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

After participating in the training program, the Chief Minister is expected to return to Hyderabad in the evening. This visit has drawn sharp criticism from BJP state president Ramchandra Rao, who accused the Congress-led state government of failing to fulfill electoral promises and destroying the homes of the poor.
