KSCA Disassociates from IPL Ticket Scandal Amid Ongoing Investigation
KSCA Clarifies Its Position on Ticket Sales
On Wednesday, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) made it clear that it is not involved in the current investigation regarding alleged black-market ticket sales related to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) matches in the IPL 2026. The association emphasized that it does not participate in the distribution or sale of tickets to the public.
Vinay Mruthyunjaya, a spokesperson for KSCA, responded to media speculation suggesting that some entities under scrutiny for acquiring tickets and reselling them at inflated prices might be connected to the association. KSCA firmly rejected these assertions, stating that it is "neither the ticketing agency nor the selling authority" for RCB matches. The association clarified that ticket sales are managed solely through authorized channels designated by the franchise and its ticketing partners.
The KSCA further explained that it only receives a "limited allocation of tickets," which are strictly distributed to cricket clubs, permanent members, and certain government or statutory bodies. The association reiterated that it does not sell tickets to the general public.
KSCA Denies Links to Accused Parties
In response to rumors regarding the accused parties, KSCA stated clearly that "the entities currently under investigation have no direct or indirect ties to KSCA," confirming that "the individuals involved are not members of KSCA."
The association pledged to fully cooperate with the investigating authorities and called for a thorough inquiry to identify the offenders and take necessary legal actions. Under the leadership of B K Venkatesh Prasad, KSCA reaffirmed its commitment to uphold "the highest standards of integrity" while promoting and developing cricket throughout Karnataka.
