Krunal Pandya Celebrates RCB's Historic IPL 2025 Victory
A Historic Triumph for RCB
All-rounder Krunal Pandya has shared his thoughts on Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) momentous IPL 2025 title victory, describing it as one of the most heartfelt experiences of his career. He dedicated this significant win to the fans and former captain Virat Kohli. After 18 long years, the Bengaluru franchise clinched its inaugural IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by a narrow margin of six runs at the renowned Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
A Win Dedicated to Kohli and Fans
During an episode of JioStar's 'The Krunal Pandya Experience', Krunal emphasized that this long-awaited trophy held immense significance for both Kohli and the loyal RCB supporters. "The ones who truly deserved this victory are Virat Kohli and the RCB fans. Virat has been a cornerstone of RCB since its inception. Witnessing his emotional reaction was truly special," Krunal remarked.
He reminisced about the unwavering support from fans throughout the season and the commitment made during the campaign. "The affection fans have for RCB is remarkable. I declared on the mic that we must secure the trophy for them, no matter what," he added.
Meaningful Victory After Years of Anticipation
Krunal expressed that fulfilling the promise after 18 years made the victory even more significant. "I’m thrilled that we could deliver in the final. The fans deserved this trophy more than anyone else, and of course, Virat too," he stated.
Reflecting on Personal Growth
The all-rounder also reflected on his personal journey, calling this season one of the highlights of his career. "Playing for my country is paramount, but winning for RCB after 18 years and having my best season is among my top moments," Krunal noted.
He elaborated on his evolution as a cricketer over the years. "I have evolved for the better. Throughout this journey, I’ve learned a lot. Much credit goes to my parents for their upbringing. However, my core values remain unchanged. My passion for cricket and my love for my family, including my wife and kids, are integral to who I am," he shared.
Player of the Match in the Final
Pandya was acquired by RCB for Rs 5.75 crore during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction in Jeddah and was retained for the 2026 IPL season. He played a crucial role as a spin-bowling all-rounder, scoring 109 runs and taking 17 wickets, including a standout performance in the final. He was named Player of the Match for his impressive two-wicket spell against PBKS, which was pivotal in RCB's historic title win.
Looking Forward to IPL 2026
As the 2026 season unfolds, the defending champions RCB currently sit second on the points table with 10 points. They aim to solidify their position as they prepare to face the struggling Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday.
