Kiren Rijiju's Stance on Sanjay Raut's Comments

Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, has chosen not to respond to the derogatory remarks made by Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP from the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, amidst ongoing turmoil within the party. Rijiju stated that it would be inappropriate to react to such comments. Speaking to reporters, he emphasized that the events in Parliament speak for themselves, and there is no need for him to add anything further. He noted that responding to Raut's statements would not be beneficial, as each MP has their own perspective and approach to their constituency.

Focus on Parliamentary Cooperation

Rijiju remarked that every political party has its own operational methods and refrained from commenting on the actions of specific Shiv Sena MPs. He expressed a desire for all MPs to collaborate on the bills presented in Parliament. However, he indicated that it would not be appropriate to retaliate against Raut's insults or accusations. Earlier on Thursday, Rijiju chaired a review meeting for Hajj 2026, announcing that India has received two awards for managing this pilgrimage.

Recognition for Hajj Management

He stated that considering all factors, Hajj 2026 has been one of the most splendid events to date, resulting in India winning two awards. The Ministry of External Affairs presented these awards to him, and he expressed gratitude to the entire Hajj management team, officials from his ministry, and the MEA team. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is regarded as a religious obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey.
