Kiren Rijiju Launches ₹25.86 Crore Development Initiatives in Chamba
Foundation Stones Laid for Key Projects

The Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, has inaugurated several development initiatives valued at ₹25.86 crore in Bhanjaradu (Tissa) and Salooni as part of the Prime Minister Jan Vikas Programme from the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
The projects encompass:
- ITI building at Bhanjaradu (Tissa) with an investment of ₹9.84 crore.
- Indoor Stadium at Bhanjaradu (Tissa) costing ₹7 crore.
- Indoor Stadium at Salooni with a budget of ₹9.02 crore.
During his speeches at public gatherings in Bhanjaradu and Salooni, Rijiju pointed out that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the last 11 years have seen remarkable advancements in road infrastructure, banking services, and digital connectivity. He stressed the government's dedication to not only meeting essential needs but also equipping rural regions for future challenges. Rijiju encouraged residents to take advantage of government programs and to raise awareness among their communities.
He announced that the Indoor Stadium at Bhanjaradu is expected to be completed within 18 months, while the Salooni stadium will be finished in 20 months. Rijiju assured that all requests from the local community regarding the Minority Affairs Ministry would be addressed with care.
Additionally, he revealed that the Ministry has allocated ₹25 crore for entrepreneurship development in Chamba, providing loans at a 6% interest rate to 324 beneficiaries. Minority students can also access loans up to ₹25 lakh at a 3% interest rate for their education both domestically and internationally. Rijiju mentioned that 1,75,000 Muslim pilgrims are set to perform Haj this year, including 65 from Chamba district.
The Minister highlighted that the Minority Affairs Ministry has initiated ₹31 crore worth of development projects in Chamba, which includes the previously laid foundation stone for the Government Senior Secondary School building at Diyur along with the three projects inaugurated today.
The event also featured speeches from Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, MP from Kangra Parliamentary Constituency; D.S. Thakur, MLA from Dalhousie; and Ram Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, who discussed various government initiatives and ongoing development efforts.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal expressed appreciation to Union Minister Rijiju, MP Dr. Bhardwaj, and other dignitaries.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Diladar Ali Batt (Chairman, State Haj Committee), Dheeraj Narayal (District BJP President), IAS officer Sachin Jaiswal (Private Secretary), SP Vijay Saklani, ADC Amit Mehra, SDM Tissa Rajesh Jaryal, and SDM Salooni Chandrabir Singh, along with departmental officials, employees, and local residents.
