Political Meeting Raises Eyebrows

Bhojpuri singer and actor Khesari Lal Yadav, who contested the last Bihar Assembly elections on a ticket from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Chapra, met with BJP National President Nitin Nabin in Patna on Saturday. This meeting has ignited fresh political speculation in the state. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary was also present, having come to meet Nitin Nabin as well. Following this encounter, discussions have intensified regarding the possibility of Khesari Lal Yadav joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the near future.


Khesari Denies Party Switch Rumors

Despite the swirling rumors, the Bhojpuri star firmly dismissed any intentions of changing political allegiance. After the meeting, Khesari Lal Yadav praised Nitin Nabin's leadership, stating that he is a source of pride for the entire nation. He emphasized that he does not believe in politics or caste-based identities, asserting, "I do not belong to any specific party or caste. As human beings, we should all remain united."


Birthday Greetings and Clarifications

Explaining the purpose of his visit, Khesari mentioned that he came to congratulate Nitin Nabin on his birthday. He expressed, "Today is Bhaiya's birthday, and since I was in Patna, I thought it was appropriate to come and wish him, as he is like an elder brother to me and is leading the country." He reiterated that he is not joining any party, stating, "I am an artist, and I wish to remain just that. I was with the RJD and will continue to be with them."


Election Performance and Future Prospects

In the previous Bihar Assembly elections, the Grand Alliance nominated Khesari Lal Yadav as a candidate for the highly publicized Chapra constituency. Despite drawing large crowds at his rallies, he faced a narrow defeat in a tough contest. BJP candidate Chhoti Kumari won by a margin of 7,600 votes, securing 86,845 votes compared to Khesari's 79,245.
