Kedarnath Temple Opens for Pilgrims Amid Grand Celebrations

The Kedarnath Temple has officially opened its gates to devotees, marking the occasion with traditional rituals and the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The event was celebrated with Vedic chants and a grand floral decoration, symbolizing the rich spiritual heritage of India. Kedarnath Temple Welcomes Devotees

The Kedarnath Temple, one of the revered Jyotirlingas, has officially opened its doors to devotees today, Wednesday, with traditional rituals and Vedic chants. At 8 AM, as the gates swung open, the entire temple resonated with the chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Jai Shri Kedar.” The first worship was dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On this sacred occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present, offering prayers at Baba Kedarnath and wishing for the prosperity and peace of the state and the nation. The moment was made even more divine with the melodious tunes from the Sikh Regiment band accompanying the opening ceremony. CM Dhami extended his best wishes to all citizens, stating that Kedarnath is not only a significant center for followers of Sanatan Dharma but also a symbol of India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. He noted that the Char Dham Yatra continues to set new records each year, and this year, with Baba Kedarnath's blessings, the pilgrimage is expected to be historic.

He emphasized that the state government has made extensive arrangements to ensure the Char Dham Yatra is safe, organized, and accessible. He urged all residents of Uttarakhand to maintain a spirit of service and hospitality towards the pilgrims arriving from across the country and abroad. CM Dhami praised Prime Minister Modi as a devoted follower of Baba Kedarnath, highlighting the magnificent reconstruction of the temple that took place under his guidance after the 2013 disaster, which now attracts devotees from around the globe.

The five-faced ceremonial palanquin of Lord Kedarnath arrived at the temple from the winter seat at Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, passing through Guptkashi, Phata, and Gaurikund yesterday evening. The process of opening the gates began at 5 AM today. Following this, at 8 AM, Raval Bhimashankar Ling, Priest T. Gangadhar, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, MLA Kedarnath Asha Nautiyal, and other religious leaders entered the sanctum sanctorum to perform the rituals. With a resolve for divine invocation and public welfare, the gates were opened for devotees at exactly 8 AM. The temple was magnificently decorated with over 51 quintals of flowers for the occasion, and as the gates opened, flower petals were showered from a helicopter, moving the devotees deeply.
