Kashmir's Solidarity with Iran

In a remarkable display of solidarity, residents of Kashmir have come together for the second consecutive day to support Iran, which is currently facing the ravages of war. People have generously donated cash, gold, silver, and other valuable items, sending a powerful message of humanitarian compassion. This wave of support has even reached the halls of the Lok Sabha, where independent MP Engineer Rashid announced his intention to donate a month's salary to aid a school in Iran that tragically lost 162 girls.

Rashid emphasized that his empathy extends beyond just one side of the conflict, expressing concern for Israeli civilians who have also suffered due to their government's policies. He pledged his salary to help rebuild the school where the heartbreaking incident occurred, highlighting the collective effort of Kashmiris who have contributed gold and even vehicles, raising millions for the cause.

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks about impending challenges, Rashid argued that India must stand firmly with Iran in these trying times. He criticized BJP MP Jagdambika Pal's statement, asserting that merely bringing in a few liters of LNG is insufficient. Rashid reminded everyone of the importance of major projects like the Chabahar Port, which hold significant strategic value.

Community Efforts to Aid Iran

In various regions of Kashmir, locals have donated cash, gold, and copper utensils to support Iran's relief fund, according to officials. The Iranian embassy expressed gratitude for these acts of kindness in a post on social media, stating that such generosity will never be forgotten. Following Eid, young people in the Shia-majority areas of the valley went door-to-door on Sunday to collect donations for those affected by the conflict in West Asia.

Ajaz Ahmed, a resident of Rainawari, remarked during the fundraising efforts that the illegal war imposed on Iran by the Israeli government and its supporters has caused immense destruction. He urged the civilized world to at least provide assistance to the suffering people of Iran. Officials noted that the donation campaign saw participation from all segments of society, including men, women, and children, with women particularly stepping forward to generously donate gold jewelry, copper vessels, and other valuable household items. Some families even contributed livestock.
