Kashi to Host Special Fit India Sundays on Cycle Event Celebrating Commonwealth Games 2030

The historic city of Kashi, renowned for its rich spiritual heritage and lively culture, is set to host a unique edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle tomorrow, December 7. This special event marks India's official designation as the host for the Commonwealth Games 2030.
In a notable addition, private security personnel will participate as special partners. Dayashankar Mishra, the Minister of State, will grace the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the cultural and national importance of this expanding fitness initiative in a city that harmonizes ancient traditions with modern vitality.
Notable Guests and Sporting Personalities
Continuing Kashi's tradition of excellence in art, culture, and sports, the event will feature distinguished guests, including:
1. Pandit Sajan Mishra - Renowned Padma Bhushan awardee and legendary vocalist from the Banaras Gharana.
2. Sanju Sahaj - Esteemed tabla artist from the Banaras Gharana.
3. Sunil Singh - Indian weightlifter and silver medalist at the 2025 Asian Youth Weightlifting Championship.
4. Divya Singh - Former captain of the Indian Women's Basketball Team and celebrated sportsperson from Varanasi.
5. Pratima Singh - Former Indian basketball player and member of the famous Singh Sisters, known for promoting basketball in India.
6. Pooja Sihag - Indian freestyle wrestler, bronze medalist at CWG 2022, and multiple Asian and national medalist.

Launched in December 2024 under the leadership of the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, Fit India Sundays on Cycle aims to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Fitness Ka Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz' and the nationwide 'Fight Against Obesity.'
Since its inception, the Sundays on Cycle initiative has evolved into a community-driven movement. Over 4,000 NaMo Fit India Cycling Clubs and countless citizens participate weekly, transforming the initiative into a fitness revolution across India.
The Cycling Federation of India, My Bharat, and Yogasana Bharat continue to support this movement, spreading the message of fitness for everyone.
