Karnataka's Minister Yatindra Siddaramaiah stated on Thursday that his father, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, had proposed the names of 14 candidates for ministerial positions during discussions about the cabinet expansion. However, he noted that the party leadership did not consider some of these names. This revelation comes amid reports suggesting that certain leaders close to Siddaramaiah, including senior legislator and former minister H.C. Mahadevappa, are dissatisfied with the former Chief Minister for allegedly not making sufficient efforts to include them in the cabinet led by D.K. Shivakumar.

In response to a question, Yatindra mentioned, 'My father included Mahadevappa's name in the list, but the leadership opted not to consider him and instead chose Narendra Swamy to give a new face from the SC-right community a chance.'

He further clarified that Siddaramaiah had included Mahadevappa's name in both the initial and the latest lists, emphasizing that it was actually the first name mentioned. Speaking to reporters, he confirmed that Siddaramaiah had submitted a list of 14 names to the party leadership.
