Karnataka Deputy CM Urges Employers to Grant Leave for Kerala Local Elections

D.K. Shivakumar, Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister, has called on employers to provide paid leave for Kerala employees to vote in the upcoming local body elections. Scheduled for December 9 and 11, these elections are crucial for many Kerala residents working in Karnataka. Shivakumar emphasizes the importance of civic participation and urges businesses to support their employees in fulfilling their voting rights.
 

Request for Paid Leave for Kerala Employees

On Wednesday, D.K. Shivakumar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, appealed to employers across the state to provide paid leave to employees from Kerala. This request aims to enable them to participate in the upcoming local body elections in their home state.


Voting for the local body elections in Kerala is scheduled for December 9 and 11.


Shivakumar, who also serves as the president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), highlighted that a significant number of Kerala residents live and work in Bengaluru and other regions of Karnataka. He urged all businesses, educational institutions, commercial establishments, hotels, contractors, builders, shop owners, and other operators to grant eligible voters at least three days of paid leave.
