Shivakumar Calls for Unity Among Legislators
Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar publicly distanced himself from ongoing political speculations within the party on Saturday. He urged legislators not to use his name for their political ambitions. Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru amid discussions of a potential reshuffle during the legislators' visit to Delhi, Shivakumar stated, 'I request all of you, please do not do this. No one should speak on my behalf.'
He further emphasized that if legislators have their own issues, such as aspirations for ministerial positions or leadership roles, they should pursue those independently. 'But please do not involve me in this. I am earnestly requesting you all,' he added.

Responding to reports about some legislators traveling to the national capital or abroad, Shivakumar stated he was unaware of any such activities. 'I have no knowledge of legislators going to Delhi or overseas, and I will not interfere in this matter,' he remarked. When asked about comments made by his brother D.K. Suresh, who suggested he could become Chief Minister if luck favored him, Shivakumar dismissed such speculations. 'Everyone is saying the same thing. I have not said anything like that.'

When questioned about support within the Congress legislative party, he asserted that all 139 legislators, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, are united.
