Karnataka Cricket Association Commemorates Fans Lost in Tragic Incident

Chinnaswamy Stadium to honor the 11 fans who tragically lost their lives in a stampede during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory parade. Karnataka's Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, paid tribute at the memorial, expressing condolences to the families. KSCA, under the leadership of Venkatesh Prasad, reaffirmed its commitment to safety and announced that 11 seats will remain vacant during future matches as a mark of respect. This ceremony highlights the association's dedication to honoring the memory of the departed while ensuring the safety of fans in the future.
 

Memorial Ceremony at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium

Today, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) held a poignant ceremony at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, unveiling a memorial dedicated to the 11 fans who tragically lost their lives during a stampede on June 4, 2025. This incident occurred during the victory parade of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after they secured their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title last year.

The event was attended by Karnataka's Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, who paid his respects by laying a floral tribute at the memorial. He expressed his condolences to the families affected by this tragedy.


Commitment to Safety by KSCA

Led by the esteemed cricketer Shri Venkatesh Prasad, the KSCA emphasized its dedication to responsible governance and the enhancement of safety protocols. Vacant Seats in Honor of the Deceased

Venkatesh Prasad announced that a special prayer was held to honor the victims and support their families. He revealed that 11 seats will remain unoccupied during IPL and international matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as a tribute. "We will keep 11 seats vacant, and they will not be sold for any matches, whether IPL or international," he stated.
