Karnataka Congress MLA Blames Kumaraswamy for Former MP's Life Sentence

In a recent statement, Karnataka Congress MLA K.M. Uday has placed the blame for the life sentence of former MP Praswal Revanna on H.D. Kumaraswamy. Uday alleges that the conviction is rooted in political rivalry and personal vendettas within the JD(S). He claims that Kumaraswamy's animosity towards Revanna stems from the electoral defeat of his son, leading to a conspiracy against Revanna. Uday's comments highlight the ongoing tensions within Karnataka's political landscape, raising questions about the motivations behind such legal actions. Political Allegations Surrounding Praswal Revanna's Conviction

K.M. Uday, a Congress MLA from Maddur, has accused central minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy of being responsible for the life sentence handed to expelled party member and former MP Praswal Revanna. Revanna, the son of JD(S) MLA H.D. Revanna, was imprisoned on charges of rape. Uday claimed that this case is a result of familial rivalry and political scheming within the JD(S). He expressed that Kumaraswamy's animosity stems from the electoral defeat of his son, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, which led to targeting Revanna.

Speaking to reporters in Maddur, Uday questioned whether Kumaraswamy, who cannot tolerate his brother's son, would be able to accept leaders like himself. He suggested that only their family should prosper, not others. Uday stated that the public's rejection of Kumaraswamy's son after the elections was something he could not digest, prompting him to orchestrate Revanna's imprisonment, as shown in a video posted on his official Facebook account. He further accused Kumaraswamy of disseminating controversial videos related to the case.

Uday asserted that Kumaraswamy is fully accountable for the situation, claiming he orchestrated the entire CD scandal to ensure his brother's son ended up in jail. He emphasized that if H.D. Deve Gowda had truly intended to help, Revanna could have been released, but that did not happen. Now, with his son defeated, Kumaraswamy is attempting to garner sympathy through a padyatra, Uday remarked.
