Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated that the Congress party's high command holds the ultimate authority in leadership matters, stressing that individual ambitions are secondary to the organization. On Monday, he stated that the decision made by the high command is final. He echoed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's sentiment that the party is greater than any individual.

Clarification on Leadership Speculations

In response to ongoing speculations regarding leadership struggles in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar confirmed that he would travel to New Delhi only at the invitation of the Congress high command, alongside Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. During a press interaction in Bengaluru on Saturday, he stated, "I will not go to Delhi secretly. When the high command calls, I will go with the Chief Minister. If we travel, we will inform you (the media)."

Siddaramaiah Dismisses Power-Sharing Claims

Siddaramaiah also dismissed claims regarding a power-sharing agreement lasting two and a half years, asserting that he will remain Chief Minister until the party leadership decides otherwise. He emphasized the importance of public support first, followed by the election of a leader in the legislative party meeting, after which the high command will make a decision. "I have stated that I am still the Chief Minister, and I will continue in this role until the high command makes a different decision," he added.
