Karnataka CM Engages with Global Kannada Community to Strengthen Ties

Karnataka's Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar recently met with a high-level delegation of Non-Resident Kannadigas (NRKs) from 30 countries at the Vidhana Soudha. The meeting aimed to strengthen connections between the state and the global Kannada community. Shivakumar expressed pride in their achievements and emphasized the importance of incorporating their expertise into Karnataka's development. Additionally, he chaired a review meeting on the progress of key 'Panch Guarantee' schemes, focusing on effective implementation and accessibility. This engagement highlights the government's commitment to fostering a robust relationship with the Kannada diaspora.
 

Meeting with NRK Delegation

On Saturday, Karnataka's Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar welcomed a high-level delegation of Non-Resident Kannadigas (NRKs) from 30 countries at the Vidhana Soudha, the state assembly. The primary aim of this meeting was to enhance connections between the state and the Kannada diaspora worldwide. The delegation was led by K.H. Muniyappa, the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs. Shivakumar expressed pride in the achievements of the Kannada community globally.


In a post on X, he stated that Kannadigas around the world have spread our language, culture, and values to every corner of the globe, making significant contributions across various fields. Their accomplishments and unwavering connection to Karnataka serve as a source of pride and inspiration for all of us.


Listening to Perspectives for Future Development

During the discussions, the Chief Minister listened to the NRK representatives' thoughts and aspirations regarding the state's future development. He emphasized the state government's eagerness to incorporate the expertise of the global Kannada community into Karnataka's growth journey. He further mentioned, 'I was pleased to engage with the delegation and hear their insights, suggestions, and hopes for our state's future.' The Karnataka government is committed to strengthening its ties with the global Kannada community and leveraging their knowledge, expertise, and goodwill to build a robust, prosperous, and globally connected Karnataka.


Shivakumar also chaired a review meeting to assess the progress and implementation of the state's key 'Panch Guarantee' schemes.


Review Meeting on Panch Guarantee Schemes

The meeting, held in the committee room, focused on ensuring effective delivery and accessibility of the five guarantee programs. Shivakumar shared details of the meeting on X, stating that discussions were held on the progress of implementing the 'Panch Guarantee' schemes. Several senior cabinet members attended, including K.H. Muniyappa, K.J. George, and Priyank Kharge. The Vice Chairman of the Implementation Authority for the guarantee schemes and Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, along with other senior officials, were also present. They provided updates on the ground-level execution of the schemes and discussed obstacles faced in welfare projects.
