A Departure from VIP Culture

Karnataka's Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has taken a significant step away from the VIP culture prevalent in politics. He opted to travel by metro from Vidhana Soudha to Central Silk Board Junction. After his metro journey, the Chief Minister remarked, "I do not wish to waste the valuable time of ordinary citizens. The reality is that whenever a Chief Minister travels by road, heavy traffic jams occur due to security and protocol measures. To avoid this, I chose to take the metro, which took about 45-50 minutes. Now, I will visit my village and meet the people who have been voting for me since 1985."

Concerns Over Rising Gas and Diesel Prices

During his metro ride, when asked about the recent increase in LPG prices, the Chief Minister stated, "I have requested a detailed report from the relevant authorities regarding this matter. The rising costs of LPG, commercial gas, diesel, and other essential items are indeed a cause for concern. Once I receive the complete report, I will discuss this issue in detail tomorrow."

First Visit to Harohalli After Taking Oath

After being sworn in as the 18th Chief Minister of Karnataka, D.K. Shivakumar made his first visit to his home constituency, Harohalli. Upon his arrival, he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from local residents and party workers, who were visibly excited to see their leader.

Invitation Extended to Opposition Party Workers

In his address, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar reminisced about past political collaborations. He mentioned, "In the past, we assisted JDS's Anita Kumaraswamy, and even helped Kumaraswamy win elections before that. However, I do not wish to dwell on those old matters. I want to make it clear that I am not just the leader of my party's workers. I also extend an invitation to the workers of the Janata Dal (S) to know that my doors are always open for you. Now, it is up to you to decide how to make the best use of this opportunity."
