Kangra Valley Rail Struggle Committee Submits Memorandum

The Kangra Valley Rail Struggle Committee has officially presented a memorandum outlining their demands and concerns to both the Prime Minister’s Office and the Railway Minister’s Office through a significant delegation.




Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj, a member of the Railway Consultative Committee for Northern Railway, delivered the memorandum. During the event, he stressed that the Kangra Rail Struggle Committee has been dedicated to advocating for the preservation of this historic railway heritage for the benefit of the public.




He noted that since joining the Railway Consultative Committee, the Kangra Railway and the Chakki Bridge have been his primary focus. He has consistently raised this issue at various levels, even urging Members of Parliament to pose questions in the Lok Sabha regarding the situation.




Mr. Bhardwaj pointed out that the Struggle Committee has successfully garnered substantial grassroots support, sending a strong message to future generations about the importance of collective efforts in preserving heritage.




The main goal of this representation is to safeguard the historic Kangra Valley Rail Line in Himachal Pradesh and to advocate for essential measures for its enhancement and development. This rail line is not just a transportation route but a vital component of the state's cultural and historical identity.




The Committee expressed optimism that the concerns of Himachal Pradesh residents, along with media partners and all those dedicated to saving the Kangra Railway, will resonate with the government. They are hopeful that the Central Government will acknowledge the urgency of this matter and make timely decisions regarding the Kangra Railway.




Furthermore, the Committee reiterated its commitment to continue raising awareness about this issue among the public and to take all necessary actions for its preservation.
