Kangra APMC Meeting Approves ₹5.34 Crore Income and New Development Projects

The Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Kangra convened a meeting at its office, presided over by Narendra Kumar (Nishu Mongra). Members from the Arhtiya Association Kangra participated and voiced their concerns to the chairman.
During the meeting, the committee sanctioned the income generated from December 2025 to June 2026, totaling ₹5.34 crore. Additionally, the ongoing construction projects under the committee were reviewed. For the fiscal year 2026–27, the Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board in Shimla has allocated a budget of ₹8 crore for various development initiatives.
Key projects include:
- A state-of-the-art vegetable market at Tanda Khuli, costing ₹6 crore
- A sub-vegetable market at Pasu, valued at ₹34 lakh
- A vegetable market at Fatehpur, with an expenditure of ₹1.62 crore
- A grain market at Milwan, costing ₹2.13 crore
- Construction work at Riali, amounting to ₹3.66 crore
The committee also resolved to allocate vacant shops across various markets.
For the financial year 2026–27, procurement centers under APMC Kangra reported the purchase of 15,156 quintals of wheat, with 2,632 quintals acquired at Milwan, 12,003 quintals at Riali, and 521 quintals at Fatehpur. Under the e-NAM scheme, farmers received a total of ₹3.3 crore in online payments by July 2026. The meeting underscored the importance of connecting more farmers to the e-NAM platform.
The licenses issued by APMC Kangra for the year 2026–27 were also ratified.
Attendees included Dr. Rupika Sharma, Dr. Deep Kumar, Dr. Yogesh Sharma, Shagun Sood, Ravindra Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Jaswant Dhadhwal, along with representatives from the Arhtiya Association such as Rajesh Kathuria, Vishal Soni, Rakesh Soni, Inderjit Singh, Sachin Trehan, Ankush Malhotra, Pankaj, and various farmer members.
