Judicial Proceedings in Meghalaya

The District Sessions Court in Shillong, Meghalaya, has placed the main suspects, Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha, under judicial custody for 13 days as of Saturday, June 21. This case has garnered national attention following revelations of a potential premeditated conspiracy during a honeymoon trip. Assistant Public Prosecutor Tushar Chanda confirmed that the court approved the request for judicial custody, despite the police not seeking it. The investigating officer had requested this custody, which the court granted.

Allegations of Deception

Sachin Raghuvanshi, the elder brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, accused Sonam of misleading police investigators during her initial eight-day custody. Speaking from Indore, he called for an extended police remand and thorough questioning to uncover the full extent of the alleged murder conspiracy. He claimed that Sonam concealed crucial details and requested that all suspects be transferred to Indore for more intensive investigation. Sachin also urged for a narco-analysis of Sonam's family and close associates, suggesting their potential involvement in the conspiracy, stating that orchestrating such a significant plot alone would be improbable.

Emotional Plea from Raja's Mother

Raja's grieving mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, broke down while speaking to reporters, demanding answers from Sonam. She questioned, "Why did Sonam kill my son? I will not find peace until I hear the truth from her lips." She urged investigators to leave no stone unturned in questioning everyone involved.
