Judicial Commission Summons KCR Over Kaleshwaram Project Irregularities

A judicial commission in Telangana has summoned K. Chandrashekar Rao, the former Chief Minister, to investigate alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project. Notices have also been issued to other political figures, including T. Harish Rao and E. Rajendra. The inquiry focuses on damage to the project's barrages, with BRS leaders claiming the notice is part of a political conspiracy aimed at damaging KCR's reputation. This development raises questions about the political landscape in Telangana as the investigation unfolds.

Inquiry into Kaleshwaram Project

A judicial commission investigating alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project in Telangana has summoned K. Chandrashekar Rao, the president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Chief Minister, to appear before them.

Sources from the BRS confirmed on Tuesday that the notices have been received. It is believed that the commission, which is looking into the damage to the project's barrages, has also issued notices to BRS legislator T. Harish Rao and current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP E. Rajendra.

The notices instruct the leaders to appear next month. Harish Rao, who is KCR's nephew, served as the irrigation minister in the previous BRS government, while Rajendra was also a minister before joining the BJP in 2021.

In response to the situation, K. Kavitha, a member of the Legislative Council from BRS, criticized the Congress government, claiming that the notice issued to KCR is part of a 'political conspiracy' aimed at tarnishing his image.
