Journalists in Jaipur to Protest for Rights and Security

Following the protest, a delegation will present a 30-point memorandum to the Rajasthan government, urging action on these critical matters. Protest Organized by Voice of Media


Jaipur. On Sunday, July 12, the Voice of Media organization will hold a one-day protest at the Shaheed Smarak in the capital city of Jaipur, addressing various demands from journalists. The organization has called upon journalists from across the state to participate in large numbers to demonstrate their solidarity.


Govind Gopal Singh, the media in-charge for Rajasthan and editor of Daily Heritage, shared that this protest aims to advocate for journalists' rights, safety, dignity, and several pending demands. He emphasized that journalists from various media outlets, along with all officials and members of the organization, will join the movement to raise their voices for their rights. The Rajasthan president of the organization, Gopal Gupta, urged fellow journalists to unite and speak out on issues related to their interests and safety, highlighting that journalists are the fourth pillar of democracy.


He stated that the participation of every journalist is crucial to strengthen this fight for their rights. Following the protest, a delegation from the Voice of Media will submit a 30-point memorandum to the Rajasthan government on behalf of the Chief Minister. The organization has indicated that the memorandum will prominently address journalists' welfare, safety, facilities, and other significant issues. They expressed hope that the government will take positive steps to address journalists' demands, thereby empowering this vital pillar of democracy.
