Jos Buttler Achieves Historic Milestone in T20 Cricket

Jos Buttler, the wicketkeeper-batter from England, has made history by becoming the first player to score 15,000 runs in T20 cricket. This remarkable achievement occurred during the second T20I match against Sri Lanka on Thursday, where he surpassed the previous record held by West Indies' Kieron Pollard. Buttler reached this milestone in 528 matches, boasting an impressive average of 35.46 and a strike rate of 147.46.

His T20 career has seen him play for numerous teams across various leagues, including England, Lancashire, Manchester Originals, and several others such as the Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.


With a total of 15,000 runs, Buttler has recorded nine centuries and 107 fifties. He overtook Pollard, who has 14,999 runs from 754 matches at an average of 31.71. Buttler achieved this landmark by hitting a single off Eshan Malinga during the fifth over of England's innings.
