Archer Becomes RR's All-Time Leading Wicket-Taker

In a remarkable achievement, English fast bowler Jofra Archer has established himself as the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during a match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Wednesday.


Archer claimed three wickets in this match, surpassing the previous record held by Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who had taken 67 wickets in the IPL.


With this performance, Archer's total wicket count for the franchise in the IPL now stands at 68.


In his 54th IPL appearance for RR, Archer delivered an impressive performance, conceding only 20 runs across four overs, including a maiden over, while securing three vital wickets as his team defended a total of 159 runs at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.


Watson, who played 84 matches for RR, recorded 67 wickets with an average of 27.83 and an economy rate of 7.55, last featuring for the Royals in the 2015 season.


Yuzvendra Chahal, who represented the franchise from 2022 to 2024, ranks third among RR's wicket-takers with 66 wickets from just 46 matches, boasting an average of 22.80.


Throughout his tenure with the franchise, Archer has bowled four maiden overs out of a total of 208 overs. He made his IPL debut with RR in 2018 and was a crucial player until the 2020 season. After rejoining the franchise ahead of the 2025 season, he has become an integral part of the team.


Royals Clinch Victory Against LSG

The Rajasthan Royals successfully defended their score of 159 runs against LSG, thanks to outstanding performances from their fast bowlers. Nandre Burger (2 wickets for 27 runs) and Brijesh Sharma (2 wickets for 18 runs) were instrumental in RR's convincing 40-run victory over the home team.


Following this win, Rajasthan Royals are currently positioned second in the points table and are set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
