Discussions held on Sunday between the state government and the protesting students did not yield any concrete solutions. Consequently, the students have decided to march towards the assembly on Monday, August 10. Despite multiple rounds of negotiations, the students claim that their key demands remain unaddressed. On the other hand, the government asserts that it has accepted nearly 98% of the students' requests and believes the protests should conclude to facilitate further discussions on remaining issues. In light of the ongoing protests, student leaders have urged demonstrators to exercise restraint. They emphasized the importance of marching peacefully and avoiding disruptions to traffic or the general public. Enhanced Security Measures in Ranchi Ahead of March

In anticipation of Monday's march, security in Ranchi has been significantly heightened. A prohibitory order is in effect around the assembly premises, with barricades and additional police forces deployed in key areas of the city. Police officials have requested that protesters maintain the peace and discipline demonstrated thus far. Additional Director General of Police Manoj Kaushik stated that it is the organizers' responsibility to prevent any antisocial elements from joining the protest. Ranchi's SSP Rakesh Ranjan expressed that the administration aims to avoid any disruption to students' careers due to law and order issues. He noted that barricades have been set up at important locations, and a sufficient number of police personnel have been stationed.

Prohibitory Orders in Effect

A prohibitory order will remain in place within a 750-meter radius of the assembly building from August 6 to August 12, effective from 6 AM to 10 PM. Similar restrictions have been implemented in Jamshedpur starting midnight on Sunday in light of the march in Ranchi. The district administration has advised students to refrain from aggressive protests, violence, or any unlawful activities. The government has also assured that no student will face harassment during the protest. Due to the anticipated demonstrations, most schools are expected to remain closed on Monday. However, protesters have alleged that hundreds of students arriving in Ranchi from various parts of Jharkhand are being stopped by police along the way. All eyes are now on how the administration and students coordinate on the day of the assembly march.
