On Tuesday, the Delhi Capitals revealed that Jemimah Rodrigues, a prominent figure in Indian women's cricket, will serve as the captain for the upcoming 2026 Women's Premier League (WPL) season. Since the league's inception, Rodrigues has been a vital part of the Capitals, having been their first auction pick. The 25-year-old recently played a crucial role in India's remarkable victory at the ICC Women's World Cup, where her outstanding unbeaten score of 127 led India to a record chase of 339 runs against Australia in the semi-finals. In her tenure with the Delhi Capitals, she has participated in 27 WPL matches, accumulating 507 runs at an impressive strike rate of 139.67, and has been part of all three finals in the league's history, according to a press release from the team.
