Bumrah's Impact in Semifinal

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar has praised Jasprit Bumrah, referring to him as the 'Don Bradman of bowling' ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand. Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra has warned Indian batsmen about the threat posed by New Zealand's leading bowler, Matt Henry, as they prepare for the crucial match at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.

In the semifinal against England at Wankhede, Bumrah was instrumental in securing India's victory. Despite a total of 499 runs being scored, Bumrah only allowed 33 runs in his four overs and took the vital wicket of England's captain, Harry Brook. India set a formidable target of 253-7, and although England's Jacob Bethell scored a century, Bumrah's exceptional 18th over, where he conceded just six runs, proved pivotal. Ultimately, India won by a narrow margin of seven runs, restricting England to 246/7.

'Don Bradman of Bowling'

During a discussion on JioStar, Sanjay Bangar lauded Bumrah's unparalleled influence across all formats of the game. He emphasized Bumrah's remarkable control, ability to outsmart batsmen with pace, and his sharp cricketing acumen. Bangar highlighted Bumrah's consistent execution of yorkers and effective use of swing and slower deliveries, which allow him to dominate matches. 'Jasprit Bumrah is indeed the Don Bradman of bowling. His impact is unmatched by any other bowler. In every format, he consistently delivers. His control and ability to deceive batsmen are extraordinary. He has mastered the art of yorkers, landing four out of six balls perfectly. This skill is a result of his hard work and strategic thinking,' Bangar stated.

Aakash Chopra's Warning About Matt Henry

Aakash Chopra has also acknowledged the threat posed by New Zealand's Matt Henry, emphasizing his ability to trouble Indian batsmen in the T20 World Cup final. Chopra noted Henry's pace, effective yorkers, and sharp bouncers, which make him a challenging bowler to face. He specifically mentioned that Sanju Samson needs to be cautious, recalling how Henry dismissed him for a golden duck in a previous T20I match. Henry recently performed well in the semifinal against South Africa, taking 2 wickets for 34 runs, and has claimed nine wickets in eight matches during the tournament at an impressive average of 20.66.

Sanju Samson's Strategy Against Henry

'Matt Henry is a formidable bowler who can create significant challenges for India in the final. While he can sometimes be expensive, he has the ability to neutralize the pitch's impact. His speed and unpredictability, along with a lethal bouncer, make him difficult to target effectively. Sanju Samson must approach this matchup with caution, as his tendency to stand deep in the crease has previously led to his dismissal against Henry. He needs to be vigilant, especially with the new ball,' Chopra advised.
