Career Progression

The 26-year-old center-back joins Spurs after establishing himself as a reliable Premier League and international defender at Brighton. He initially signed with the Seagulls at 20, following a brief stint with NAC Breda, where he made 16 appearances and contributed to the team's run to the KNVB Cup semi-finals.

To enhance his skills, he returned to the Netherlands on loan to Heerenveen, where he played in the top division during the 2020/21 season, also reaching the KNVB Cup semi-finals.

The following year, Jan Paul experienced English football with a loan to Blackburn Rovers, where he had an impressive season, earning the club's Player of the Year award, a first for a loan player.
