Preparations for this significant religious and cultural gathering have been in full swing for a year and are now nearing completion.

A total of 35 sub-committees have been established to manage various aspects of the event, ensuring a memorable experience for attendees from distant regions, including Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, as well as participants from Delhi and Puri.

These committees have finalized their tasks, enhancing the namghar, dining area, main meeting hall, entrance gate, delegates’ camps, exhibition spaces, and the main flag-hoisting altar, which has been creatively designed to resemble a boat.

The atmosphere is alive with the sounds of Harinaam and other devotional songs, accompanied by the joyful dances of devotees, transforming the Jamuguri area into a vibrant and sacred environment that embodies the unity and devotion central to Srimanta Sankardev's teachings.

In an interview, Prabhakar Barman and Bipul Borah, the president and secretary of the reception committee, shared that 55 district committees from across the state, along with chapters from Delhi, Puri, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland, are participating in the event.

Hosted by the Tezpur district unit, the event has a budget exceeding Rs 4.10 crore, primarily funded by contributions from devotees and local residents.

Barman and Borah noted that as the host district, 3,400 households from 140 villages and four regional committees have significantly contributed to the event's success, with additional funds coming from various sources.

The reception committee leaders outlined the event's itinerary, which includes cleanliness drives and sapling planting, with morning prayers and naam-prasanga commencing on February 6, alongside the inauguration of the central delegates’ camp, namghar, meeting hall, reception committee office, book fair, and exhibition hall.

Other activities for the day will feature the main executive meeting, discussions among publicity and education sub-committees, and a meeting of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha’s thrift and credit co-operative society.

Major highlights will include a book release, a special tribute to Zubeen Garg attended by over 10,000 devotees, and a cultural program.

The following day will focus on a conclave of district presidents and secretaries, a literature sub-committee meeting featuring Dr. Subratjyoti Neog from Tezpur University discussing 'Sankari Sahityat Jaitya Setana aru Sanatan Bhabadarsa', along with cultural meetings and presentations of ankiya naat.

The final day will commence with the Sangha’s flag unfurling by Bhabendranath Deka, followed by Bhagawat Bhraman and a vibrant cultural procession.

The event will conclude with an open session featuring Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister of State Pabitra Margherita, BTR chief Hagrama Mohilary, and representatives from various national organizations.

Additionally, several books will be released, including a research-based work titled 'Bhakti Bibhaban: An Analytical Study on Bhakti Ratnakar and Bhakti Ratnawali', along with a translated book by the late Hiteswar Borah, former principal of Jamuguri HS School, and a commemorative souvenir.
