James Basumatary Takes Oath as Executive Member of Bodoland Territorial Council

James Basumatary has officially taken his oath as an Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council, expressing gratitude to BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and committing to the welfare of the community. This appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the council's administrative framework, aimed at enhancing development initiatives across the Bodoland Territorial Region. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries and officials, highlighting the importance of this new role in advancing socio-economic projects in the area.

Kokrajhar, July 3: On Friday, James Basumatary, who represents the No. 16 Nichima (ST) constituency, was officially sworn in as an Executive Member (EM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).


During the oath-taking ceremony held at the BTC Legislative Assembly Auditorium Hall in Bodofa Nwgwr, Basumatary expressed his heartfelt thanks to BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary for the trust placed in him and committed to fulfilling his responsibilities diligently.


"I am truly grateful to BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary for this opportunity and for his confidence in my abilities. I also extend my thanks to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Assam for their support. I aim to perform my duties effectively and work towards the welfare and development of our community as an Executive Member of the BTC," stated Basumatary.


With this appointment, Basumatary becomes the 92nd Executive Member of the BTC.


This recent development is part of the BTC administration's efforts to enhance its executive team to better implement development initiatives and governance programs throughout the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).


The ceremony commenced with a welcome address from Bhaskar Jyoti Manta, Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD) of BTC, and was formally initiated by A.N. Deka, Secretary of the BTC Legislative Assembly.


The Oath of Office and Secrecy was administered by Mukesh Chandra Sahu, Principal Secretary of the BTC, after which Basumatary officially took on his role as an Executive Member.


Attendees included BTC Deputy Chief Rihon Daimari, Executive Members Derhasat Basumatary, Karmeswar Roy, and Prakash Basumatary, along with Additional Principal Secretary Pranjit Kumar Wary, various department secretaries, senior officials, and other dignitaries.


This appointment is anticipated to strengthen the council's administrative structure as it advances infrastructure, welfare, and socio-economic development projects in the region.
