Jaipur Police Achieves Major Breakthrough in Cyber Crime Crackdown

In a significant operation, Jaipur Police have arrested five individuals linked to cyber fraud and successfully frozen ₹2.85 crores. The police's cyber team acted on numerous complaints and technical surveillance, uncovering a network that targeted victims across multiple states. With ongoing investigations, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant against online scams and report any suspicious activities immediately. This operation highlights the importance of timely reporting in preventing financial losses and ensuring the safety of digital transactions.
 

Significant Success Against Cyber Crime


In a significant operation against cyber crime in Jaipur, the police have successfully apprehended five individuals involved in cyber fraud. The cyber team of Jaipur Police has managed to freeze approximately ₹2.85 crores based on digital evidence obtained from the suspects. Additionally, around ₹1 crore worth of mobile phones used in these crimes have been blocked.


Investigation and Arrests

According to police officials, this operation was initiated following numerous complaints regarding cyber fraud and subsequent technical surveillance. Interrogations of the arrested individuals are ongoing, with efforts to identify others linked to their network.


Targeting Victims Nationwide

Initial investigations reveal that the suspects employed various tactics for online fraud. They deceived victims through fake calls, social media, investment schemes, impersonating bank officials, and other digital methods to siphon off funds from bank accounts and digital wallets.


Authorities suspect that the gang has targeted individuals across multiple states, prompting a thorough examination of bank accounts, mobile numbers, and digital transactions.


Freezing of Funds

With the assistance of the cyber helpline and relevant banks, Jaipur Police has successfully frozen approximately ₹2.85 crores. Officials state that timely reporting of fraud cases has played a crucial role in safeguarding these funds, making it easier to return the money to the victims.


Blocking Fraudulent Devices

During the investigation, police identified mobile phones and electronic devices used in the cyber fraud. Based on technical analysis, around ₹1 crore worth of mobile phones have been blocked to prevent their use in further criminal activities.


The investigation also continues into various SIM cards, bank accounts, and digital payment methods associated with the suspects.


Comprehensive Network Investigation

Based on the interrogations of the arrested suspects, police are working to uncover the entire network involved in these crimes. Investigative agencies are tracing where the fraudulently obtained funds were transferred and how they were utilized, as well as identifying other individuals connected to the gang.


Digital forensic experts are also examining the seized devices to gather comprehensive information about the methods and networks used in these cyber crimes.


Public Awareness and Precautions

Jaipur Police urges citizens to remain vigilant against unknown calls, suspicious links, fraudulent investment schemes, lottery scams, or calls from individuals posing as bank officials. It is crucial not to share OTPs, UPI PINs, bank passwords, or card details with anyone.


In case of falling victim to cyber fraud, individuals should promptly report the incident to the National Cyber Helpline at 1930 or file a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal. Timely reporting significantly increases the chances of freezing the stolen funds.


The Jaipur Police has affirmed that their campaign against cyber criminals will continue, with ongoing strict actions against gangs that exploit digital platforms to defraud individuals.
