Jaipur Awaits Vande Bharat Trains Despite Prepared Infrastructure
Jaipur's Long Wait for Vande Bharat Trains
Jaipur, despite the expanding network of semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains across the country, remains without any of these trains in the North Western Railway zone. The Jaipur division has yet to receive a single Vande Bharat rake, leading to increasing anticipation for services connecting Jaipur to major cities like Bhopal, Mumbai, Indore, Ahmedabad, Agra, and Lucknow. Furthermore, a maintenance yard for Vande Bharat trains has already been established at Jaipur Junction, yet passengers continue to await the arrival of these trains. Currently, around 200 trains operate daily from Jaipur, serving approximately 100,000 travelers, but the Jaipur railway station has not been graced with a single Vande Bharat train.

Rake Received During Pandemic
During the pandemic, a Vande Bharat rake was brought to Jaipur for the Jaipur-Indore route. However, due to operational priorities, it was redirected to another zone, and since then, Jaipur has not received any rake. Currently, three Vande Bharat trains pass through this station, with two from the Ajmer division and one from the Jodhpur division. Additionally, there are no premium trains operating on routes to Bhopal, Indore, Lucknow, or Agra. While Ajmer and Jodhpur divisions have two Vande Bharat trains each, and one from the Bikaner division, Jaipur division remains without any. The only services running from Jaipur to Ahmedabad are the Rajdhani train and the Duronto to Mumbai, indicating a persistent demand for Vande Bharat trains on these routes.

The Vande Bharat trains operating between Udaipur to Jaipur, Jodhpur to Sabarmati, Udaipur to Agra, and Bikaner to Delhi are currently seeing a passenger load of only about 60 percent. This trend persists even during festive seasons, tourism peaks, and wedding periods. In contrast, the Vande Bharat trains running between Ajmer to Chandigarh and Jodhpur to Delhi are fully booked.

They have prioritized routes such as Jaipur-Indore, Jaipur-Ahmedabad, and Jaipur-Agra. Additionally, the maintenance depot for Vande Bharat trains at the station is ready, and the railway minister has already inaugurated it.
