Top-Notch Training at IIS

Jaideep Dahiya, a prominent figure in Indian kabaddi, has commended the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) located in Bellary, describing it as the finest sports facility in India for kabaddi athletes. The Haryana Steelers player, who has been with the team for five years, noted that the pre-season and off-season training camps at IIS have greatly improved his performance preparation. Dahiya, a left-cover defender, made his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) during Season 8 in 2021 and has since become a key player, even captaining the team during their championship victories in Season 11 and Season 12.

'Unmatched Facilities'

Dahiya expressed, "The training here is vastly superior to what we receive in our villages. The environment and training methods are tailored to provide athletes with an excellent foundation. I believe there is no better facility in India than this one. Whether for pre-season or off-season, we rely on the diet and training resources available here, which are unparalleled in the country."

A Hub for Rehabilitation

He also pointed out that IIS serves as a leading center for both strength training and rehabilitation for injured athletes. "The facility offers exceptional strength and conditioning programs. Personally, I have utilized their rehab services for my own injury. Many athletes, including Neeraj Chopra and Bajrang Punia, frequently visit IIS for rehabilitation. It stands out as the best place for injured players to recover," Dahiya remarked.

Aiming for Gold at the Asian Games

With the Asian Games approaching, Dahiya is focused on securing a gold medal for India. He stated, "Our goal is not merely to participate in the Asian Games but to win gold for our nation. We are training rigorously and mentally preparing ourselves for this challenge. First, we must secure our spots on the Indian team and then perform excellently to overcome our competitors and achieve gold."

High-Performance Camp for Asian Games

In preparation for the Asian Games, the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) has partnered with Mashal Sports to launch a high-performance Strength and Conditioning Camp at IIS. Scheduled from March 27 to April 2, this camp will gather top male and female kabaddi athletes from across the country to prepare for the 2026 Asian Games. This initiative underscores the commitment of Mashal Sports and AKFI to the comprehensive development of kabaddi players while fostering a robust talent pipeline for upcoming international events.
