During a BJP rally in Dharamshala, Jai Ram Thakur, the Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister, launched a fierce critique of the Sukhu administration. He asserted that the Congress government has failed to introduce any new initiatives in the past three years, while numerous welfare programs initiated by the BJP have been discontinued.

Thakur expressed that the citizens of Himachal Pradesh are increasingly frustrated, noting that even Congress MLAs struggle to identify any new schemes from the current government. He accused the administration of eliminating benefits such as HIMCARE, Shagun/Kanyadan, and Grahni Suvidha, along with closing over 2,000 institutions, which has led the public to demand the reinstatement of previous services rather than new offerings.

He raised concerns regarding the government's decisions on land and university projects in Dharamshala and Palampur, claiming that the Chief Minister is acting against the interests of Himachal and favoring personal associates.

Thakur highlighted widespread protests across various societal sectors, describing the atmosphere in the state as one of 'anger and despair.' He condemned police actions against disabled individuals and students during recent protests.

Labeling the Sukhu government as 'anti-people,' he criticized it for imposing new taxes on essentials like electricity, water, and even cremation wood, which he believes is pushing the state deeper into debt. He also condemned the government's plans for a lavish celebration marking its three-year tenure at a site affected by disaster.

In a political jab, he remarked, 'In the upcoming Assembly elections, the people of Himachal will fit Congress into an Alto car.'

Thakur further accused the Chief Minister of making 'anti-Sanatan statements' to appease political leaders, referencing comments made about children greeting with 'Radhe-Radhe.'
