Is Madhya Pradesh's CM Mohan Yadav Involved in Land Acquisition Scandal?
Allegations of Land Acquisition Under BJP's Governance
New Delhi: On Tuesday, the Congress party highlighted a report suggesting that the family of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has acquired significant land in Ujjain, benefiting from various infrastructure initiatives. They accused the BJP's dual governance in the state of facilitating rampant corruption.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh took to X to share findings from the Indian Express, which indicated that Yadav's family and associated real estate companies purchased at least 137 plots covering 168 acres in Ujjain for a total of Rs 45 crore over the past two years, primarily in regions slated for road development and land-use modifications announced by his administration.
In his Hindi post on X, Ramesh remarked that under the BJP's 'double-engine' rule in Madhya Pradesh, a 'machine of plunder' is operating at full throttle.
Ramesh further accused Yadav of being directly involved in this alleged corruption.
He also mentioned that the Agriculture Minister, who transitioned from state to central politics, might be behind the 'fabrication of stories' targeting the Chief Minister, referring to Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Ramesh concluded that the ongoing power struggle seems to revolve around control and the division of resources.
