Iran's Proposal to the US Regarding the Strait of Hormuz

Dubai: Iran has put forth a proposal to the United States aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, independent of any discussions regarding its nuclear program, as revealed by two regional officials familiar with the matter on Monday.

As part of this proposal, Iran is also requesting that the US lift its blockade against the nation, according to the officials who chose to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the negotiations.

This new initiative, conveyed to the US through Pakistan, is unlikely to gain support from President Donald Trump, who insists that any agreement must include measures to halt Iran's nuclear ambitions alongside the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure a lasting ceasefire.

Trump stated during an interview with Fox News Channel on Sunday, "We have all the cards. If they want to talk, they can come to us, or they can call us."
