Dubai, June 28: The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Sunday that it had executed drone and missile strikes targeting Bahrain and Kuwait, cautioning that ongoing diplomatic negotiations with the United States could be jeopardized if military actions continued.

According to a report from Iran's state-run IRAN newspaper, the Revolutionary Guard claimed to have struck the US Navy's Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain and the Al Asad Air Base in Kuwait.

This statement represents Tehran's most severe warning regarding the negotiations that followed an interim agreement, which established a 60-day period for Iran and the US to reach a lasting resolution to the conflict.

"The enemy must understand that any breach of the ceasefire will result in a complete cessation of current discussions," the Guard stated, alluding to the ongoing negotiations.

Bahrain and Kuwait confirmed the drone and missile attacks from Iran, which occurred after new US airstrikes targeted Iranian positions.

While both nations condemned the assaults, they did not immediately specify if any military facilities or other locations were impacted.

This latest escalation follows a second round of US airstrikes ordered by President Trump on Saturday, aimed at Iranian targets in response to what Washington labeled as repeated ceasefire violations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared that the US had "struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN!"

He cautioned that if Tehran persisted in its actions, the US might eventually abandon its restraint, stating, "If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!"

The US military indicated that the strikes on Sunday were retaliatory, asserting that Iran had "an opportunity to uphold the ceasefire agreement" but chose not to after attacking a vessel.

Iranian state media reported explosions occurring in an area north of the Strait of Hormuz following the US strikes.

The attack on Kuwait was the first since both parties agreed to the interim ceasefire aimed at ceasing hostilities.

This incident coincided with a US Navy-supervised multinational maritime organization announcing plans to expand a shipping route near Oman in the Strait of Hormuz, potentially creating another point of contention in the region.

The recent exchanges follow a previous confrontation when an Iranian drone targeted the merchant vessel Kiku off the coast of Oman on Thursday.

In response, Kuwait's military reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming Iranian drones and missiles early Sunday.

Details regarding any damage were not immediately disclosed. Kuwait is home to a significant US Army base, making it a crucial strategic location in the area.
