Iran Engages Psychologists to Navigate US Negotiations
Iran's Unique Approach to Diplomacy
In a distinctive diplomatic strategy, Iran has brought in experienced psychologists to assist its negotiation team during indirect discussions with the United States. This initiative aims to better comprehend and respond to the behavior of President Donald Trump, as reported by various media sources. Iranian officials revealed that two prominent psychologists were included in the advisory group for the Iranian negotiator following discussions held in Islamabad in April.
The psychologists' primary function was to help Iranian negotiators analyze Trump's behavior and formulate messages suitable for the negotiations. An Iranian official stated, "We included two senior psychologists in our advisory circle to help us craft messages directed at President Trump, focusing on managing what we perceive as psychopathic behavior patterns." The insights provided by these experts were integrated into the negotiation strategy, leading to more constructive responses from Trump.
According to the report, the incorporation of these recommendations has noticeably improved Trump's reactions during negotiations. The official noted, "Since we started applying the advice from these psychologists in our communications, we have seen a significant enhancement in Trump's responses." Furthermore, Iran and the United States have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement aimed at concluding the conflict that escalated following the US-Israel strikes on Iran on February 28.
