Iran Denies Scheduled IAEA Visit to Bombed Nuclear Sites Amid US Claims
No IAEA Inspection Planned for Bombed Sites
Dubai: On Tuesday, Iranian officials announced that there are currently no plans for inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit nuclear facilities that were previously bombed by the United States.
Esmail Baghaei, speaking at a press conference in Tehran, emphasized this point to reporters.
His statements seem to contradict those made by US Vice President JD Vance, who claimed that recent negotiations in Switzerland had resulted in an agreement for the IAEA to inspect Iranian sites.
Since the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran in 2025, the IAEA has conducted several visits to Iran but has not been allowed access to the enrichment facilities that were targeted by US airstrikes during the conflict.
