Iran Demands Compensation from Gulf Nations Over US-Iran Conflict

Iran has made a formal request for compensation from several Gulf nations, accusing them of backing US aggression. Meanwhile, Italy's Prime Minister has announced the suspension of a defense agreement with Israel, citing the current geopolitical climate. Iran's Compensation Request

Iran has formally requested compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, accusing them of supporting the US-Iran conflict. Amir-Saeed Iravani, Iran's ambassador and permanent representative, recently sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Security Council President Jamal Fares Al-Ruwai, dismissing the compensation claims from these five nations. He stated that under the current circumstances, these countries cannot invoke Article 51 of the UN Charter (the right to self-defense) as they have promoted the US-Israel aggression.


Italy Suspends Defense Agreement with Israel

According to reports, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced on Tuesday the suspension of Italy's defense agreement with Israel, which included the exchange of military equipment and technology research. During an event in Verona, Meloni stated that given the current situation, the government decided to halt the automatic renewal of the defense agreement with Israel.

No Negotiations Between Qatar and Iran

There have been no discussions between Qatar and Iran regarding the payment to stop Iranian attacks. A spokesperson for Qatar's Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that there have been no negotiations concerning financial compensation to halt Iranian assaults, and any such discussions are unfounded. Majid Al-Ansari mentioned in a media briefing that there is high-level coordination with Pakistan and the United States, and our demands are being raised through these channels.


Macron and Starmer to Lead Conference on Defense Mission

French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will preside over a video conference on Friday in Paris, involving countries willing to contribute to a multilateral defense mission aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Two European diplomats informed that senior diplomatic leaders will hold a video call on Wednesday ahead of the meeting.
