IPL Franchises Celebrate Independence Day

On Friday, various Indian Premier League (IPL) teams shared their Independence Day wishes, embracing the themes of freedom, unity, and patriotism as India marked its 80th Independence Day. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) expressed their sentiments on social media, stating, "Let the tricolour fly high! Here's to the freedom, togetherness, and spirit that make India what it is. Happy 80th Independence Day!"

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) also joined in, proclaiming, "Entering the 80th year of writing our own story. Vande Mataram, India!"

Punjab Kings (PBKS) conveyed their greetings with a heartfelt message, saying, "Apne Tirange ko dil se salaam. Wishing everyone a #HappyIndependenceDay."

Delhi Capitals (DC) highlighted their aspirations for the nation, stating, "We still need to win more for the country."

Mumbai Indians (MI) shared a succinct message, simply stating, "Our Tricolor."

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the defending champions, paid tribute to India's journey since gaining independence, writing, "From a dream of freedom to a nation of dreamers. For every dream that was fought for, every dream that was realised, and every dream that still lies ahead. Happy 80th Independence Day, India."

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also participated in the celebrations, posting, "One flag. A billion emotions. United by one love, we say, Ami India."

These messages were shared as the nation celebrated its 80th Independence Day, marking the end of British colonial rule on August 15, 1947.

PM Modi's Independence Day Address

In a separate event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his strong belief that India will achieve developed nation status by 2047 during his Independence Day speech. He urged citizens to contribute towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat. "The whole country is moving forward with a new resolve. India has also dreamt big--and that is the dream of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Viksit Bharat will be realised in 2047," he stated.

PM Modi emphasized that when India commits to becoming developed, it captures the world's attention. "When the world's most populous country takes the resolution to become a developed nation, it becomes an introduction of our courage, and the world is compelled to look at us with a different perspective," he remarked during his address on the 80th Independence Day.

21-Gun Salute at Red Fort

The Prime Minister also performed the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag at the Red Fort on this significant day. This event was marked by a 21-Gun Salute from the gunners of the 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial). The battery, which employs indigenous 105mm Light Field Guns, is under the command of Major Pawan Singh Shekhawat, with Naib Subedar Anuthosh Sarkar serving as the Gun Position Officer.
