Investigation into Financial Irregularities at Ram Janmabhoomi Trust Advances

The inquiry into alleged financial irregularities concerning donations received by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has reached a critical juncture. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is set to submit an interim report to the Supreme Court on Monday, July 20. Reports indicate that the SIT has been instructed to present its findings directly to the Supreme Court as part of the ongoing proceedings. The results of this investigation are anticipated to pave the way for significant changes in the temple's administration and the donation counting process.

According to sources, the SIT has requested more time from the Uttar Pradesh government to complete its investigation and prepare the final report. Officials have stated that while substantial progress has been made, further time is necessary to thoroughly examine all aspects of the alleged financial irregularities before submitting a comprehensive report. The three-member SIT was established by the UP government on June 13 at the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, initially given 15 days to conclude its investigation. However, this deadline was extended by another 15 days on July 1. It is believed that the final report will significantly impact the operations of the Ram Temple Trust. Sources suggest that its recommendations could serve as a foundation for major administrative reforms, particularly in the areas of fundraising, cash management, and counting procedures. A meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is scheduled for July 22 in Ayodhya, where the SIT report is expected to be discussed in detail.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has stated that the state government is awaiting the SIT report and has promised stringent action against anyone found guilty. Maurya told a news agency, "Like everyone else, we are also waiting for the SIT report. Please be patient and have faith; no one will be spared. Anyone found culpable will face the consequences." A senior official from the Trust also confirmed the anticipation of the report but declined to comment further until it is officially submitted.

This case revolves around allegations of financial misconduct related to donations received by the 'Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.' This Trust is responsible for overseeing the construction and management of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The SIT is investigating these allegations and is expected to present its report to the Supreme Court as per the court's directives.
