Boko, Oct 25: The family of Khargeswar Rabha, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), is mourning his untimely death, with his body found in a room at Jahnavi Regency Hotel in Bongaigaon.

His spouse, Mithu Rabha, has called on the State government to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the events leading to the police officer's death, who was part of the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell.

Mithu Rabha raised concerns regarding the hotel management's actions, claiming that when she first reached out to inquire about her husband, she was given misleading information.

Initially, hotel staff denied that anyone named Khargeswar Rabha was a guest there. However, after she found the hotel's contact number online and called again, they revealed that her husband's vehicle was indeed parked at the hotel.

This inconsistency in the information provided by the hotel staff has alarmed the family, prompting them to demand a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the officer's death.

In a show of support, a delegation from the Kamrup district committee of the All Rabha Students’ Union, along with leaders from allied organizations, visited the home of the deceased officer in Deliyapara, Boko, on Friday to offer their condolences.

The organization has urged Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to ensure a fair and thorough investigation into the incident, emphasizing the need to uncover the truth. They expressed concerns about a potential conspiracy and called for a detailed inquiry into how the police officer's body was found in the hotel room.

Highlighting that the Chief Minister oversees the Home Department, the organization has requested his intervention to expedite the investigation and take necessary legal actions against those responsible.

Khargeswar Rabha's body was discovered at the hotel in North Bongaigaon on October 22, where he had been staying since October 18 for personal reasons.

This tragic event has cast a shadow over his hometown in Boko, with the grieving family and various organizations seeking clarity regarding the circumstances of his death and demanding a transparent investigation.
