Interstate Criminal Arrested in Thane for Multiple Offenses

In a significant operation, Thane police have arrested Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Said, a notorious interstate criminal wanted in over 30 cases, including serious offenses like murder and extortion. His arrest followed a tip-off regarding his involvement in a burglary in Gujarat. With a criminal record spanning multiple states, the suspect is now in custody for further investigation. Arrest of a Notorious Criminal in Maharashtra

The police in Thane district, Maharashtra, have apprehended an interstate fugitive linked to over 30 criminal cases, including murder and extortion. This information was disclosed by an official on Thursday.


The suspect, identified as Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Said, 39, has multiple charges filed against him across several states, including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, and Maharashtra.


Assistant Police Commissioner (Crime) Madan Ballal stated in a report that the arrest occurred on July 7 in Uttan, Bhayandar (East), following a tip-off regarding his involvement in a burglary and theft of a car and other valuables in Valsad, Gujarat.


The Valsad police had registered a case against him under Section 331(4) (burglary) and Section 305(A) (theft in a dwelling, vehicle, or place of worship) of the Indian Penal Code.


During the interrogation, it was revealed that the accused is a habitual offender with a criminal history spanning several states, including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and within Maharashtra's Mumbai, Pune, and Thane districts. The official noted, 'He has over 30 cases registered against him, including murder, attempted murder, burglary, extortion, and illegal possession of firearms.'


The official also mentioned that non-bailable warrants have been issued against him in some of these cases. The accused has been handed over to the Valsad police for further investigation.
