Internal Strife Within Opposition INDIA Alliance Raises Concerns
Opposition Alliance Faces Turmoil
The internal dynamics of the opposition INDIA alliance appear to be deteriorating. Several major political parties within the coalition have suddenly shifted their stance. An important meeting of the INDIA bloc is scheduled for Monday in Delhi, but reports of disagreements among opposition parties have surfaced just before this gathering.
CPM Leader Sends Strong Letter to Kharge
M.A. Baby, the General Secretary of the CPM, has addressed a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. In this correspondence, he expressed strong objections to Congress's election campaigning against the Left party in Kerala and the demand for action by the ED against former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Baby's letter reportedly questions how Congress's attitude towards the CPM could align with the coalition's goal of uniting against the BJP.
CPM to Attend Meeting Despite Discontent
Despite serious objections and strong opposition to Congress's actions, the CPM has decided to participate in the upcoming INDIA alliance meeting in New Delhi. The party will send its Rajya Sabha MP, Dr. John Brittas, to represent them at this meeting.
DMK and JMM Also Displeased with Congress
The CPM's tough stance comes at a time when the DMK has already announced its boycott of the meeting. The DMK is particularly upset with Congress for abandoning their alliance after the Tamil Nadu election results and forming a government with the TVK. This has led to their decision to distance themselves from the meeting.
Additionally, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is also dissatisfied with Congress, primarily due to the unilateral decision made by Congress regarding the announcement of a Rajya Sabha candidate in Jharkhand.
JMM Threatens to Field Separate Candidate
According to sources within the JMM, the party is so displeased with Congress's unilateral decision that they have threatened to field a second candidate for the upcoming elections for the two Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand.
Concerns Raised Over Bengal Violence
The controversy does not end there. Rahul Gandhi's attacks on the CPM during the election campaign in Kerala have angered the Left parties. Furthermore, the Left has expressed strong objections to any coalition efforts to support TMC leader Mamata Banerjee regarding the violence that occurred after the West Bengal elections. In his letter to Kharge, CPM leader Baby clearly stated that until these issues are resolved, the true purpose of the alliance will remain in question.
