A comprehensive state-level initiative (Phase-II, Part-1) was executed today throughout the Police District Nurpur, focusing on thorough inspections of courier service providers, warehouses, and parcel delivery systems.
The main aim of this operation was to thwart the potential misuse of courier and parcel services for drug trafficking and to ensure adherence to security protocols.
Highlights of the Operation:
- Local police units, CIA, and the Special Task Force (STF) conducted inspections at courier offices, hubs, and storage facilities.
- In locations lacking warehouses, delivery personnel were checked in the field, including their parcels and bags.
- Booking logs, consignment records, storage areas, CCTV operations, logbooks, security certifications, and customer KYC documents were meticulously examined.
- Courier managers and staff were educated and instructed to keep clear records and promptly report any suspicious parcels or activities to law enforcement.
Results: Throughout the extensive checking operation, no suspicious items were found. All courier centers, warehouses, and delivery parcels complied with regulations, with no narcotics, banned substances, or psychotropic materials identified.
The campaign was deemed entirely successful, with police officials highlighting that such surprise inspections will persist in the future to protect youth from drug abuse and prevent the misuse of courier services.
