NEW DELHI: The ongoing political strife between the BJP and Congress has escalated, with prominent BJP figures, including former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, national president J.P. Nadda, and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, directly confronting Rahul Gandhi. They have urged him to attend the Lok Sabha and engage in a debate with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The BJP is leveraging Rahul Gandhi's past assertions against him. He has frequently claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are reluctant to debate him in Parliament. Now, the BJP contends that since Amit Shah is prepared to address the Opposition's concerns, Rahul Gandhi should exhibit the same level of confidence and not evade the debate.

In a Facebook statement, Jairam Thakur explicitly challenged Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, asserting that Amit Shah is available to respond to the Opposition's inquiries and would do so again. Thakur criticized Gandhi for his history of absence during significant debates.

This confrontation arises amidst a persistent deadlock in Parliament regarding police actions against student demonstrators. The government has expressed its readiness to discuss the issue, while the Opposition continues to demand accountability from the Home Minister, leading to repeated disruptions in proceedings.
