Security Forces Clash with Naxalites in Bijapur

Bijapur: A confrontation erupted between security forces and Naxal militants in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday, according to a police spokesperson.

The gunfire commenced early in the morning within the forested hills of the Bhairamgarh-Indravati region, as a District Reserve Guard unit was conducting an anti-Naxalite operation based on intelligence regarding Maoist activity in the vicinity.

The exchange of gunfire is ongoing, and additional information is expected soon.

Earlier, police reported that three Naxalites, including a female member, were killed in a separate encounter with security forces in the Sukma district on Thursday, with a total bounty of Rs 12 lakh on their heads.
